Record Store Day 2014 will be celebrated with new releases from Kylie Minogue, One Direction, Green Day, Paul Weller, David Bowie, Elbow and Nile Rodgers among the 600 plus exclusive products that will be issued on Saturday 19th April.

Now in its seventh year, Record Store Day 2014 will be spearheaded by exclusive limited edition 7” vinyl singles from One Direction (Midnight Memories), Kylie Minogue (Golden Boy), Paul Weller (Brand New Toy / Landslide), Elbow (Charge) and David Bowie (Rock ‘N’ Roll Suicide).

Eminent producer and Chic frontman Nile Rodgers is releasing the Rob Da Bank and Eats Everything mixes of his track Do What You Wanna Do on 7” and 12” vinyl, Katy B is set to issue a remixed version of her Number 1 album Little Red, while Green Day will release their new album, Demolicious.

Record Store Day UK co-ordinator Spencer Hickman explains: “The whole idea behind Record Store Day is try and attract new and different customers into the world of independent record shops. This year’s stellar line up of titles should hopefully do that and with big pop releases from bands like One Direction, we’ll hopefully introduce the next generation of record buyers to vinyl.”

Record Store Day was launched in 2007 when over 700 independent stores in the USA came together to celebrate their unique culture. The UK followed suit and 2014 will see the seventh celebration of the UK’s unique independent sector. This is the one day that all of the independently owned record stores come together with artists to celebrate the art of music.
