Former BBC Radio 1 breakfast show presenter Chris Moyles appears to have fallen on hard times, recently begging for work on Twitter!!

chris moyles radio 1Chris Moyles recently approached film director JJ Abrams via Twitter, soliciting for a role in the next Star Wars film and also approached Sir Paul McCartney to ascertain whether he could be his stage compere.

Chris Moyles left the breakfast show on BBC Radio 1 as the longest serving presenter to date, having had an illustrious radio career. He was handsomely rewarded with a salary of £500.000 per annum for his services, but appears to have become persona non grata in the media world since….

Chris Moyles approached film director JJ Abrams tweeting: “Hey, if you need any average height storm troopers for Star Wars, me and my mate are available. #worthatry.” and later tweeted former Beatle Sir Paul to ask: “Do you need anyone to introduce you on stage tonight in LA? I’m not doing owt.”

Since leaving BBC Radio1 in 2012 Moyles has been mainly jobless, apart from a stint as King Herod in musical Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s “Jesus Christ Superstar”. Chris Moyles was in the headlines earlier in the year when his tax avoidance scheme, in which he claimed to be a loss-making used car dealer, was exposed. Just months later said that he was officially retiring from show business, stating in June: “I’m retired now. I haven’t got any plans and I’m just having a lot of fun.”chris moyles

Well it seems that although the fun hasn’t run out, the money has!! Maybe Chris Moyles should think about becoming a real life Arthur Daley, second hand car salesman in the 1980s TV series “Minder”. He’s definitely got the right patter and cheeky chap persona to be a second hand car salesman!!

Let’s just hope Chris Moyles does not go from tweet beggar to street beggar, although he’s already half way there with his scruffy, unkempt, hirsute appearance……..
