Rod Stewart will be bringing a bit of red and green tartan to the traditional red and green Christmas decorations this year. As we approach the festive season, Rod Stewart merchandise will be available as stocking fillers and main presents.

Rod Stewart’s “Rod: An Autobiography” and “Merry Christmas, Baby” album will prove to be popular choices as gifts for Christmas. The “Merry Christmas, Baby” album was produced by “American Songbook” collaborator David Foster and recorded during the summer at Foster’s home studio in Malibu. Rod Stewart commented: “You’re looking out over the ocean and the sky and the beach and the sun’s shining, and then there’s Christmas trees in the living room. I knew it was going to be odd, but it was more odd than I thought it would be.”

The “Merry Christmas, Baby” album includes guest appearances by Cee-Lo Green and Trombone Shorty on the title track, Michael Buble on “Winter Wonderland” Mary J. Blige on “We Three Kings” and saxophonist Dave Koz on “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow” and a virtual duet with Ella Fitzgerald on “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?” which also features trumpeter Chris Botti. The “Merry Christmas, Baby” album includes one original tune, “Red-Suited Super Man”.

Whilst the “Merry Christmas, Baby” album will be a Xmas soundtrack for the whole family, “Rod: An Autobiography,” will more of a selective read. As the one and only Rod Stewart autobiography, there will be no held punches in terms of his rock and roll lifestyle. Of course those rock and roll years in the 1970s provided the backdrop to Rod Stewart’s greatest hits. In between the womanizing and partying, Rod Stewart recorded some absolute classic songs –
