ITV’s recent poll and subsequent programme “Nation’s Favourite Bee Gees Song” gave us a timely reminder of not only the longevity of the Bee Gees, spanning five decades, but the pantheon of their work.

The acid test of the quality and depth of a group’s output, is the material that they don’t actually record themselves. The Bee Gees have handed over some classics to other leading lights, writing “Islands in the Stream” for Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton and “Heartbreaker” for Dionne Warwick.
