Former East 17 lead vocalist Brian Harvey recently vented his spleen at the music industry when he smashed up framed platinum discs that he was awarded when he was with East 17 in recognition of the 18 million records the band sold.

The incident came to light when he posted a video of his outburst online on You Tube. He ranted and raved: “East 17, one million sales – this is what it f****** means. That’s what I think of your f****** music industry.” In the video, Brian Harvey is then seen hitting the framed records against a metal junction box in an alleyway, shattering the glass and then dumping the wreckage on the paving slabs.

Then in a later film also posted on his YouTube channel, he is seen in the alley once again tidying up and putting the remains of the framed records in a bin, commenting: “I’m a peaceful person, and I pick my rubbish up.”……Perhaps he would have been better suited to being a Womble rather than front man of East 17!! Maybe we should warn Neighbourhood Watch on Wimbledon Common to be vigilante and keep an eye out for Brian Harvey in case he targets the Wombles’ four gold discs ( for record sales from their eight hit singles) !!
