Other than a brief enjoyable break dance down memory lane, “Rewind The Tube”, part of Channel 4’s 1980s night, merely served to remind us that the edgy, anarchical nature of the flagship music programme was not mirrored by the music of that decade!!

In the main the music from the 1980s was bland, banal, boring and safe and completely at odds with The Tube and its off the wall, quirky presenters Paula Yates and Jools Holland. As the Record Press author watched “Rewind The Tube”, it merely reinforced the paucity of musical talent in that decade and as is my wont on the Record Press Blog, I was scratching my head attempting to create a Top 10 Best 1980s Bands / Music Acts.
