Donny Osmond has recently announced that a duet with music legend Stevie Wonder will be the first single from his forthcoming 60th album.
The 1970s pop idol announced to the Canadian press in Toronto: “He agreed to do ‘My Cherie Amour’ with me, so that’s going to be the lead track” which will be made available for free through his Twitter account on 16th June. Donny Osmond added: “I’ve known Stevie
over the years, but this is the first time I’ve collaborated with him. Wait till you hear his solo on this thing. It’s just classic Stevie.”
This got the Record Press author musing over the greatest duets in pop and rock history. There really have been some classics, where the fusion of two vocals, especially male and female, have combined to create the perfect harmony. Most of the time it comes down to great chemistry between the two artists in the duet, although ironically the No1 in the following Record Press Top 20 Best Duets is an exception to the rule as Diana Ross and Marvin Gaye loathed each other so much, that their vocals were recorded separately!! However this does not stop “You Are Everything” being the perfect duet!!
