Sales of compilation albums are on the increase, representing a fifth of all UK albums sold. Statistics from the Official Charts Company have revealed there was a 7.2% rise in 2012, with £20.6m of compilation albums sold throughout the year.

The trend has continued into 2013 with sales increasing by 11.8% in the first three months of this year, with the most popular album compilations being the “Now That’s What I Call Music” series as well as specialist volumes……..
