After a four year wait, James Bond returns to UK cinema screens next month in “Skyfall” and Adele’s dulcet tones will greet cinema goers at the beginning of the film.

Speculation has been rife for some time that Adele would sing the theme music / song to the new James Bond film “Skyfall”, with sightings of her at an MGM recording studio a couple of weeks ago and also more recently at EMI’s Abbey Road recording studios. It has since been confirmed that Adele has written the James Bond film theme song, which will adopt the name of the film “Skyfall”.

The single for James Bond film 23 “Skyfall” will be Adele’s first recording and release since her multi million selling album “21”. Adele doesn’t exactly have a hard act to follow, as Jack White and Alicia Keys’ “Another Way To Die” theme tune to “Quantum Of Solace” was universally slated, along with the film.

Adele is a perfect choice to sing the James Bond film theme song “Skyfall” as she possesses the powerful, soulful voice synonymous with the better James Bond film theme songs performed by Shirley Bassey ( “Goldfinger” and “Diamonds are Forever” ) and Tom Jones ( “Thunderball” ). In truth, Bond film theme songs have been a little hit and miss, like the secret agent’s shooting prowess.
